PdePagès, the new brand for proximity and quality at Mercabarna

Mercabarna hosted the presentation of PdePagès on Thursday, 30 January. The new brand promoted by the Mercabarna Farming Association (APAM), made up of farmers and agricultural cooperatives committed to a diverse and thriving agricultural model.

The initiative starts life with the aim of highlighting the work of local producers, guaranteeing quality local produce for professionals in the sector and consumers.

An occasion for discovering the project close up

During the morning, PdePagès had a stand in the market area where people could discover first-hand the philosophy and products being offered under this new brand. The day culminated with a presentation event in the function room in the executive centre at Mercabarna, aimed at APAM members and clients, institutions and the media.

Participating in the ceremony were key figures in the sector, such as Pablo Vilanova, general manager of Mercabarna, Jesús Pellicer, chair of the APAM, Pau López, director of Sustainability, Innovation and Digital Transformation at Mercabarna, Jeroni Magrans, stallholder at the Mercat de l’Abaceria de Gràcia, Xavier Capellas Sánchez, cook from the restaurant PuntG, and Carlos Pujol, specialist from the Joint Office for Sustainable Food (OCAS) and moderator of the event.

Besides the speeches, attendees enjoyed a drink and a light bite made by the restaurant PuntG with PdePagès produce, highlighting the quality and authentic taste of local food.

Sustainable local food model

PdePagès is an initiative that firmly backs the link between producers, traders and consumers, promoting a more sustainable food model which is committed to the local area.

Seasonal fruit and vegetables from local farmers will be marketed under the brand, offering a reliable and good-quality alternative.
