Barcelona to host the event "From Plate to Planet: Municipalities that Transform"
The event will include panel discussions on various topics, round tables, and a practical workshop to encourage municipalities in Catalonia and neighbouring areas to take concrete action.
On Thursday, 12 December, Barcelona will be at the centre of the debate on the potential of food policies to support the fight against climate change. The event “From Plate to Planet: Municipalities that transform”, which is being held at the Cotxeres de Sants Civic Centre, will bring together a whole host of experts, local stakeholders and officials and technical personnel to explore the role sustainable food can play in transforming territories and tackling climate change.
Organised by Barcelona City Council and the Red de Municipios por la Agroecología [Network of Municipalities for Agroecology], during the meeting participants will share strategies, knowledge and experiences of climate action at a local level. The programme includes panel discussions on various topics, round tables where municipalities will exchange experiences, and a practical workshop for devising and developing specific actions aligned with local needs.

The event, an unique opportunity to reflect collectively on the role municipalities play in the transformation of the food system and the fight against climate change, will take place from 9.30 am to 2.00 pm. To take part you need to register before 5 December using the following form.
