Agròpolis organises an inter-cooperation session with research and innovation centres
This meeting is a chance to build bridges between research and society, with a focus on a more sustainable food model for Barcelona.
The Pere Quart community centre is hosting an inter-cooperation session promoted by Agròpolis on Tuesday, 25 February, from 10 am to 1.30 pm. The meeting will bring together different research centres aligned with the vision of the Agròpolis participatory space to introduce their work to the organisations in the network. It will also look at possible ways of connecting, and identifying knowledge needs from the city’s social and economic network to transfer to the research sector.
All Agròpolis organisations interested in taking part can sign up here.
Presentation of projects and collaboration opportunities
The session will be divided into two parts. In the first, the different research centres will be outlining their current projects and possible connections they want to establish with organisations and the social movement for food sovereignty and agroecology. The research and universities department at Barcelona City Council will also be taking part and explaining subsidy areas that seek to promote collaboration between research centres and the civil society, as well as grants for young researchers.
Space for networking and building ties
After the presentations there’s a space for meeting over breakfast, generating networking spaces where attendees can meet each other and chat in a relaxed atmosphere.
“Networking with research”: a participatory activity
In the second part there’s a participation activity to foster inter-cooperation under the title “Networking with research”, identifying knowledge needs from the city’s social and economic network and possible ways of connecting these needs with research centres in the city. Individuals and organisations taking part will have the chance to talk to research centres to build ties and strengthen connections with research.
